Real Estate listings near Avord Tower

The Avord Tower is a 16 story office tower in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. The 16 story building was completed in 1967 and is an example of Modernist architecture. The Avord Tower stands on the site of the old North-West Territories Supreme Court building. From 1967 until 1976 this was the tallest building in Regina. The site was long previously that of the Supreme Court of the North-West Territories. Its own early days were before Regina's City Counsel substantially gave in to demands by business enterprise that downtown to a considerable extent be abandoned and emptied in favour of shopping centres on the outskirts of the city. The policy has been experimented with in other central North American cities over the years though cities of the American mid-west have laboured in recent years to overcome what they came to regard as a disastrous miscalculation. It remains to be seen whether and when downtown Regina can recover vitality.
