Real Estate listings near Leitrim, Ontario

Leitrim is a dispersed rural community in the south end of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, named after the Irish County Leitrim. The community is adjacent to the rapidly growing Findlay Creek suburban neighbourhood. The greater Leitrim area is bounded by Leitrim Road to the north, and Rideau Road to the south, generally between Bank Street on the east, and Albion Road to the west. The community design plan outlines the development for the area in the coming years. Findlay Creek Village is currently the only area under development within this region. Southbrooke is another community planned within the area. Located nearby are the Leitrim Wetlands, the Rideau Carleton Raceway, a stormwater system and a military intelligence gathering station CFS Leitrim. In September 2005, a local OC Transpo bus route the #144, started (and continues) to serve the community. A park and ride is located at Bank and Leitrim roads. Although the project to extend the O-Train North-South LRT corridor (today's Trillium Line) was cancelled on December 14, 2006, there are tentative plans at city hall to extend the O-Train down to Leitrim as an improvement to service the city's south end. This has yet to be approved by council.
