Roedde House Museum is a Vancouver, Canada-based museum. Located in Vancouver's West End neighbourhood, the museum is centered in the residence of Gustav Roedde, the city's first bookbinder, and reflects the day-to-day life of a middle-class immigrant family in Canada at the start of the 20th century. It is a uniquely restored Heritage house in the heart of downtown. It is built in the late Anne Queen Revival style and has been faithfully restored to its original 1893 splendour. The Roedde House Museum offers an incredibly special experience for visitors, because unlike many heritage houses and museums, rooms are not roped off or behind glass. You are welcome to handle some of the artefacts with care and each of the eleven rooms have been furnished with artefacts and period items, some of which have been returned by the Roedde family. Guided tours by our knowledgeable docents are always available, or if you would prefer to explore at your own pace, multilingual information cards (available in English, French, Chinese, German, Spanish, Japanese and Korean) are located in every room. These tours are also available online on our mobile website.
