Property Details

FLY-IN RESORT WITH PRIVATE AIRSTRIP / ALMOST 60 ACRES OWNED LAND \r\rTHE LODGE/LOCATIONAt present, there is a pressing need for extensive renovations and repairs. Nevertheless, there is a promising chance for a skilled craftsman to restore the property to its former glory. The current owners have made a significant financial commitment and effectively converted it into a top-notch lodge property between 2011 and 2013, demonstrating remarkable advancements in their endeavor. Taking into account the required repairs, the requested price has been suitably modified; constructing the runway alone would exceed the current listed price by a considerable margin.\r\rThe lodge's location is truly unique, situated on a picturesque bay of the lake, once a trading post of the Hudson's Bay Company. The lodge itself reflects its rich history, with hand-hewn beams adorning the ceilings and original log cabins scattered throughout. It's easy to envision the awe-inspiring sights that greeted the first explorers of North America, as they encountered the Cree Indians and their birch bark canoes filled with fur, ready to trade for goods from the white man. Beaver pelts served as the currency of the time, exchanged for muskets, knives, axes, cooking pots, and the renowned Hudson Bay Company blankets.Comprising several buildings, the main lodge is a testament to local craftsmanship. The kitchen boasts a central support beam made from a tree, rather than milled lumber. The walls, constructed from logs, have withstood the test of time. The dining room features a magnificent stone fireplace adorned with fascinating artifacts. The log walls and roof showcase construction techniques that are now rare and difficult to replicate.THE FISHING - GRAND SLAMWhen it comes to fishing, the lodge is renowned for its exceptional offerings. Anglers can expect to encounter a grand slam of fish, including large and plentiful Lake Trout, trophy Northern Pike, impressive Walleye, and massive Brook Trout. Situated at the eastern end of the lake, the lodge provides access to some of the finest and most sheltered fishing in Canada, earning its reputation as a world-class destination. Positioned on a prime section of the lake, where shallows meet the depths and abundant structures are found, guests won't have to venture far to find their desired catch. The fishing experience here is truly remarkable, with many trophy fish being caught within a short boat ride from the lodge. It's not uncommon to have days where over 100 fish are caught. Walleyes can reach up to 28 inches, with many exceeding 30 inches. Every year, hundreds of pike over 40 inches are reeled in. Lake Trout typically range from 8 to 15 pounds, with numerous fish weighing between 20 and 30 pounds.\rThe lodge provides guests with the opportunity to experience a Canadian Grand Slam of Trophy Lake Trout, Brook Trout, Walleye, and Pike. Situated in a prime location where shallows meet main lake depths, guests can easily access the abundant fish without spending all day searching. Most Trophies are caught within a short boat ride from the lodge. As a special bonus, guests can enjoy a day trip to the local River to fish for exceptional Brook Trout averaging over 20 inches. The lodge offers a nostalgic experience, allowing guests to explore the untouched wilderness and relax in nature during their fishing adventures. Upgraded with a newer reverse osmosis water system and sewer system in 2013.\rFor more information, contact Richard Mitchell.\r\r\r\r\r\r\r\r
