About Bayview Village
Bayview Village is an established residential neighbourhood in the former City of North York, centred around the Bayview Village Shopping Centre at Bayview Avenue and Sheppard Avenue East. The neighbourhood extends roughly from Highway 401 to the south, Finch Avenue to the north, Leslie Street to the east, and Bayview Avenue to the west. Development began in the 1950s when farmland was subdivided into residential lots, and the area matured through the 1960s and 1970s into a solidly middle-class suburban community.
The neighbourhood has a well-defined identity shaped by its proximity to the Don River ravine system and the relative consistency of its housing stock. Unlike nearby areas along Yonge Street, Bayview Village has experienced less high-rise intensification, retaining much of its original low-density residential character on interior streets.

Nearby Amenities
Bayview Village Shopping Centre provides the neighbourhood's primary retail concentration, with grocery stores, fashion retailers, restaurants, and personal services. The Bayview Arena offers public skating and hockey programs, while Bayview Village Park and the surrounding green spaces provide playground equipment and sports facilities.
The Don Valley trail system along the eastern edge of the neighbourhood is a significant recreational asset, connecting southward through the ravine system toward the Lakeshore. The Ikea and big-box retail area near Leslie and Sheppard provides additional shopping options.
